For me less stressed, happier and creative day means Success and Productivity. To achieve that, I have established my Magic rule. Basically what it means is that I put my personal priorities first, than other people’s priorities. In simply way: I do not check e-mails and social media notifications as a first thing in the morning. Morning is all about ME time and creation. If I am not able to take care of myself and haven’t created something, I feel lost and not in harmony. Needless to say, I do not like this feeling… So what does help? Keep reading…
My Magic rules for successful and productive day {not necessarily in this order}
- Wake up early. Well, Yes, just early, not super early for me, yet. But you all know that most successful people wake up around 4am, 5am and surely you know that time is an invaluable asset. If you wake up early, not only you will have more control in early hours, you will also have more opportunities to do things that matter to you. It all depends on my day schedule, but I love to wake up few hours before something what is in my diary. I used to wake up really late, as I was working late too, but now I am changing it. I would love to wake up together with sun everyday. Isn’t that beautiful, to start your day with sunrise? I have 2 tips how to wake up earlier than you are used. First one is to start with waking up 15 minutes earlier than your usual time, then, gradually adjust. Second one is to wake up at time you would like to wake up daily, as your morning routine. Only give one promise to yourself – that you will stay up for 20 minutes, after you can go back to your cozy sheets. 20 minutes is great time and it is doable as you are waking up with idea, that if you really, really want to go back to bed, you can do it. So it is much easier to do. Mostly of times 20 minutes are also enough to start your day and get excited about it, so you will not want to go back to bed.
- Read you gratitude journal. If you don’t have one, please take new notebook and start one right now. Every single day, write down at least one thing that you are thankful for. I also love to print out or screen shot good reviews or nice messages. Learn to count the small wins. As happiness is about appreciating and wanting things that you already have. If you will only look on your vision board and things you want, it will be much harder to feel happy and fulfilled on daily basis. Count blessings you are grateful for and you will become more open to optimism, positivity and inspiration.
- Enjoy time with family. Connect with your partner and kids in the morning. Talk about your plans and your beloved hobbies as a way to always be present in their lives. We all have busy lives, but this is time when you can make your and your loved ones day better. Help your kids to dress up, my little one is too small to do it on her own, so I need to help anyway, but this is great time to do it not rushing, to talk about style and colours, to make then feel confident and beautiful in and out. Perfect time to talk about their dreams, to encourage them and to show that you are always there. Also great time for cuddles and tasty & healthy breakfast. Those family moments are precious for our family. Don’t let work get in the way of family – make time for your priorities. If you are single or don’t have kids yet, send some great and happy day greetings to your parents or fiends, they will appreciate. {When you enjoy those moments you don’t need to say: “where did time go, she is so big already”.. well she is much bigger as in this photo, but I have been there for her and that is most important for me}
- Exercise. It doesn’t mean you need to burn calories in hight intense training, but little yoga or stretching will help to start day in perfect way. Make time for exercise, even just 10 minutes. Everything counts: walking in neighbourhood, dancing while making breakfast, running with dog, early gym session or home workout. You choose. Activities will make you healthier, scientifically happier, you will be able to think clear and it will take away stress and tiredness.
- Work on self development. As you know motivation doesn’t last forever, so you need to replenish yours regularly. Same as with muscles, you need to exercise regularly to have that abs. I do a lot of self education and self development, it includes books, podcasts, audibles, documentaries, training videos. I would highly suggest at least 30 minutes a day or hour, I do more! Name it Power time and plan it in your schedule. Invest in yourself. Learn, before remove the “L”
- Say your Mantra. Or otherwise – Meditate. I am not an expert in meditation, but I sit down and focus on my breathing, usually I repeat some Mantra. I do believe I will learn how to mediate properly one day, but for now my 10 minute not worrying time is really important. It does help to focus, be calm and to concentrate on things I want to accomplish in order to run my business round my lifestyle.
- Plan and organise your day. Usually I take my cup of coffee and check my to do list. I love to start with most complicated task, as morning are most energised and productive and when you accomplish something big you feel really good. If I know that this task is very complicated and could make me stressed I break it down and do those small tasks one by one, sometimes not in one day. I also love to theme my days. For example, Mondays are more dedicated for inspiration and planning, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I will more likely shoot some videos or create training content. Thursdays and Fridays are for connections, shows and meetings. Of course I have tasks what I need to accomplish daily, but this is big frame, how I organise things around.
- Create something. Either it is blog post, or love letter, drawing or creating product/content – do it. That is perfect way how to stay accountable, you will know that you have done something to be proud of, something you have made, created and something that will make someones day better or will give value. Great way how to continue day on success note.
When this part is done.. self care, self love, self awareness, self development etc – I can start to think about others in direct way. I check my e-mails and notifications, I start to do my daily tasks and I am starting to hustle. Calls, meetings, projects. Lets do it!!!
Share what is your routine and how you make the most of your day, I would love to know, as we always can learn more.
Also let me know if something was valuable for you.

Hey, Guna! Great post, dear Latvian friend! I need to take some examples from your routine and embed in mine.
I wake up between 8 and 9 am, which is not ideal, but it’s okay. Probably, I can try to wake up a bit earlier to embrace the sunrise!
I also start with the more (or most) complicated tasks in the morning and then I work my way to all others.
I drink lemon water for an hour or so and then I have a smoothie, which really pumps up my energy levels (and my muscles, haha).
I really love the diary idea. I usually repeat that I am thankful for the day and for the things that happened during it before I go to sleep, but writing it is even better! I shall start soon!
Hugs,
Svet
